The Temporarium Is Upon Us

Under Vanessa Stallings’ direction we move fiercely to The Temporarium, a spectacle of Redmoon objects and a celebration of Redmoon For Hire. I am very excited - excited to watch Vanessa work, excited to alter our whole room, excited to see our glorious objects performing in our home space.

The event is a feat few could take on, I think. Strike a show, while preparing 3 others (Once Upon a Time going to LA, Hunchback going to New York, and Dr. Egg in our room) and altering a 2,500-square-foot industrial space into a wonder world in 7 days. Takes real might and passion. I am most excited for the party - Jim has said repeatedly, and he is right, that what we do best is throw great parties, and this event will be a awesome expression of that joyful exercise.

The items in performance are plenty: table ladies serving food, wine bikes serving wine, our beautiful sites creating an ethereal world, mechanical nickelodeons suggesting our design style and poetic humor… The list goes on and on. It will be a surreal world of zany and poetic action.

I have been looking at other groups that alter space, and I highly recommend our audience looking at Groupe Zur - this is a great group of artists, technicians, performers, and musicians who create massive site-specific installation. I adore their work and really want to share their website.

Make sure you watch their short videos - they are really beautiful.

As a fevered fan of Redmoon and all transformative theatre endeavors, I would like to highly suggest this strange troupe of artists that I met in North Carolina. The Collaborative Director inherited his grandmother’s antique store (the building had several past lives as well) and was intrigued to find an entire space filled with generations of collected items. They have turned the space into an interactive museum, but they also invite in artists to use objects found in the space to create art installations and theatre productions. You can find this group at:

Also, congratulations to Redmoon for a thrilling evening of dancing and spectacle theatre. Your work constantly inspires me to think outside the box in my own theatrical endeavors.
