Location: Ping Tom Memorial Park, Chinatown
Spectacle ‘04: Sink. Sank. Sunk… marks the first in a new Redmoon Theater series of annual site-specific spectacles created to introduce audiences to undiscovered, often-overlooked Chicago locations. With Spectacle ‘04: Sink. Sank. Sunk… Redmoon Theater uses its unique blend of spectacular physical action and dazzling visuals to transform Chinatown’s Ping Tom Memorial Park into a place of celebration for thousands of audience members. Spectacle ‘04: Sink. Sank. Sunk… features an interactive performance by colorful characters with outrageous, oversized mechanical props, a dreamlike lantern procession, and dramatic fire installations, all set to an original score performed by a live band with vocal interludes by the Windy City Gay Chorus.
