Dream Masons

March 23 - 26, 2007

Location: Hobart, Tasmania

In March of 2007, Artistic Director Jim Lasko carried the Redmoon banner deep into the heart of the outback. Joined by designer Joey Van der Werven and director and puppeteer Jessica Wilson, the Dream Masons transformed the facade of the iconic Salamanca Arts Centre (SAC) into a theatrical spectacle of awesome proportions - a bold and imaginative exploration of human ingenuity and the capacity to survive against enormous odds.

This original work, commissioned to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Salamanca Arts Center in Hobart, brought together more than 100 Tasmanian performers, musicians, artists and technicians in a fluid world of haunting imagery, perilous stunts and live choral music. Dream Masons played for four evenings and was attended by over 12,000 people… that’s about 10% of the population of Hobart! We trust that the success of Dream Masons will result in future international collaborations!
